So, as mentioned, I have a six year old son. His name is Alexander but about 75% of the time he is referred to as "Xander". Anyway, today was Xander's last day of Kindergarten! Any mom (or dad!) out there can probably relate to how I am feeling today. I am so overcome with joy and amazement over his accomplishments! His report card was truly amazing and reflects how smart and creative he is! I also have this feeling of sadness though. Once you hit a milestone, their first word, their first step, the first day of school, etc...it is hard not to reflect on how they grow up so fast. I have heard a quote that expresses how I feel perfectly. It goes "the days are long, but the years are short". There are days where I count down the minutes to bedtime because the day has been long and I'm tired out. But somehow those long days suddenly become only a flash moment in time, and the years keep coming and passing. You realize that however young or small your child(ren) are today, they will never be this young or this small again! Just a reminder to show your kids lots of love and soak them in! Don't forget their cute little faces!
Long story short, I am proud of my boy! As his mom, I have put so much time and effort into raising him and it's days like today that I see the results of all my hard work! Now we have summer vacation to look forward to! This means, an upcoming blog will definitely touch upon fun and educational things to do with your kiddos over the summer! I will have a lot to share on that subject!
